December Comedy Night
Topping the bill is dynamic New Zealander Jarred Christmas who has appeared on TV’s ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’, ‘Mock the Week’ and ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’ as well as ‘Pot Noodle’ adverts. With his confident onstage persona he takes the audience on a hilarious ride of laughs and gasps, with an edge of anger that manifests itself in his incredible rants against the small things in our lives. His childish sense of humour has never left him and his material is strong and distinctive, drawn from life experience and random happenings.
Opening the night will be Pierre Hollins who has been an audience favourite on the comedy circuit for many years, and has headlined at clubs throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In the early days, he worked as a support act to Lenny Henry and Rory Bremner, appeared in the West End with Rita Rudner and toured with The Flying Pickets, Willie Rushton & Barry Cryer. He has completely re-invented his act several times. In a more recent incarnation, he was found wielding an electric squash racket! His relaxed amiability is defined by a compelling conversational style and absurd guitar posturing.
Completing the line-up is comedian and script writer Sean Percival. His brand of comedy steers clear of the surreal and confronts realism in an explosively funny way. His down to earth act is bang up to date with its upfront attitude, no long stories, just gags galore.
Compere for the night will be the calm and carefree, writer and stand-up Tony Cowards. His smart and hilariously stupid jokes, always leaves people rolling in the aisles!
