National Water Sports and Rutland Festival 2018
The National Watersports Festival (NWF) is the largest participation water sports event in the UK. Fondly known as “The People’s Festival,” it is designed to cater for novice and intermediate watersports enthusiasts. The aim of NWF is to transform the normal spectator into the competitor / participant!
NWF has grown from the highly successful and unique National Windsurfing Festival which, for the last 10 years, has been the largest event of it’s type on the national calendar. The founding principle of the NWF is to provide a mass-participation event with a great atmosphere, taster sessions and a simple, “Out-and-Back” race format. The race format is designed to be non-intimidating, so that any intermediate, recreational sailor can take part, regardless of their ability. Most of all, NWF is about having fun, on and off the water – the beach parties with live bands are now legendary!
This all-inclusiveness has led to the development of a real NWF community – and interest from other action sports. So from 2013, reborn as the National Watersports Festival, NWF is even bigger and better and will deliver all of this for Kayaking and Stand Up Paddle boarding as well as Windsurfing.
The NWF is the annual pilgrimage for both windsurfers and stand up paddle boarders where like minded enthusiasts come together to celebrate our love for our sports on a national level with a fun filled weekend on and off the water.
Combined in 2018 with the relaunched Rutland Day celebrations, this years festival will play host to local traders and producers, off water activities, live music all day and so much more.
The Grainstore Brewery is delighted to be providing bar services and hosting the evening parties in our large marquee throughout the weekend.
