Wharf Inn, Welford

The Wharf Inn at Welford is a spacious castellated Georgian folly in delightful setting by two Grand Union Canal marinas. For some great walks from the pub, just ask the landlord for a leaflet! Grainstore Ten Fifty is served here permanently with real cider served in an unpretentious bar, popular straightforward pubby food at reasonable prices, good service, pleasant dining section; children and dogs welcome, big waterside garden, open all day

Opened during the 1980s, although the original ironstone building dates to the 1800’s. It is located at the extreme northerly end of the village on the border with Leicestershire. It is situated next to the Grand Union canal basin where several walks can be started. Inside is a small bottom bar, whist up a couple of steps is the main bar, with an inglenook separating the drinking area from the restaurant area. Six hand pulls on the bar serve are always in use serving real ales of the highest quality. A beer festival is held at the Wharf annually.
